We're organizing the festival to support the Garden Kitchen Lab and its mission of providing backyard-to-table educational programs for underserved communities. By giving families access to healthy, affordable and locally grown food through starting and sustaining food- producing gardens, this hands-on multi-disciplinary program puts the power in the hands of community citizens so they understand the link between food production, the environment and their health, and take ownership of their nutrition.

We have a small grant to cover some of the financial costs of the festival, but still need to find additional funds to pay for:
- the pots and soil that will be given away to everyone who wants to start their urban garden
- the ingredients for the many of the tasting stations
- materials and supplies for hands-on activities (natural dyes, science kits, etc.)
